The First Havalu-Kathara War, also known (to Kathara) as the War of Extermination, was one of the first interplanetary war in Cocoa System during the early Space Age take place in Havalu on 678 BSIW. The war saw the Katharan's introduction of the Hyperdrive, better known as the hyper speed, Havalu's unification, and battles that occurred in the space for the first time. This war paves way for Havalu to become a new interplanetary power as well as huge technological advancement. It is formed an permanent mortal enemy between Kathara and Havalu for many millennia after this war.
Beginning of the War
First Contact
Prior to the war, Havalu was divided into 5 republics (Adama, Maldran, Runovo, Seaua, and Viphip) for many years. On 788 BSIW, the first rocket from Seaua launched into the space, sparking the Space Age in Havalu. This led to the much closer cooperation for 4 republics, including Seauan Republic, to work toward to being united under a federal system. The People's Republic of Maldran, however, was against the peaceful unification and opted for the status quo to preserve their sovereignty. The Seauan Republic and People's Republic of Maldran were fiercely competing over the control of the planet through proxies and influences.
On 688, the 100th anniversary of the first space mission back in 788 BSIW, a unknown small space ship flew over the Havalu sky. The event led to the mass panics over the existence of the "UFO" throughout the planet and forever changed the international politics as well as Seaua-Maldran politics. Many government officials in all Havalu Republics feared for the possible UFO invasion decided to proposed and passed multiple resolutions and legislations regarding the safety of the citizens. Leaders from every known Havalean Republics raised DEFCON readiness from DEFCON 5 to DEFCON 2, armed every available missiles and the nuclear weapons in case when they believe they lose the war to the UFO invasion. The UFO event, however, also increased tensions between the Seauan Republic and the People's Republic of Maldran to a whole new level. Both sides were only at a inch away from starting a nuclear war between two superpowers that could have turn Havalu into a uninhabitable planet for centuries.
According to the post-war intel document, the supposed "UFO" was a Katharan Scout Ship who only flew over Havalu for few days and left back to the Kathara planet to report their findings to the Table of Military Leadership. Everyone in the Table of Military Leadership found Havalu being extremely valuable primarily due to the abundance of waters and other resources. Table of Military Leadership unanimously voted for the full occupation of Havalu and colonize Havalu. Two fleets of Katharan Navy were scheduled to be prepared and dispatched to Havalu to secure the orbit prior to the planetary invasion. Kathara Navy fleets would complete the preparation of the invasion on 679 BSIW and were sent to Havalu on 678 BSIW to start the invasion of Havalu.
Orbital Invasion
Without any intelligence knowledge about Katharan's incoming invasion, Havalu were in a complete dark about this situation as they had no way to get information about Kathara's plan due to their technology limitation as well as the knowledge limitation. On 678 BSIW, Katharan Navy arrived to Havalu to make a hostile first contact with Havalu peoples and immediately secured the entire of Havalu orbit and destroyed the International Space Station (ISS) as Katharan Navy thought the ISS were an orbital defense. Seauan Republic lost all communications with the ISS, realized the People's Republic of Maldran is about to start a unification war against rest of the remaining independent Havalu Republics. Seauan Republic informed 3 republics (excluding Maldran) the news regarding the loss of ISS. all 3 republics took action by increasing budget in military and intelligence to keep Maldran at bay. Maldranese Government got confused over the fact all republics suddenly buffed the military as if they were preparing for the war against Maldran. In response to them, Maldranese Government increased budget in military as well as the intelligence and nuclear research. Seaua and Maldran were at each other's throats, only one inch away from the nuclear war.
Fall of Maldran
Back in Kathara, Table of Military Leadership gave a green light to initiate full planetary invasion of Havalu. Starting with the biggest island in the Havalu to secure; People's Republic of Maldran. Based on the Kathara's intelligence, Table of Military Leadership believed the Havalu was only one whole nation. Unknowingly to them, Havalu wasn't a whole nation yet. A huge fleet of ships flew straight into the Maldranese airspace, destroyed every single missile silos, nuclear factories, bases and other defense structures. Maldran had a very little time to respond but took by a complete surprise. Initially thought it was an attack by Seauans. One of the Kathara Defender got hit by a nearby anti-air turret, Maldranese soldiers were sent to investigate and discovered to be an UFO. Identified as the "Union of Kathara Republic". Maldranese Government realized they were being invaded by another planet and begged every Havalu republics for assistance. All Havalu Republics didn't respond, initially believed to be a trap. Until they saw a huge fleet of ships appearing in their sight, 3 republics in Havalu would form a unified coalition to unite all nations' military into one. Seaua didn't join the coalition until a more credible intelligence proved to be true about the invasion, they joined the coalition and immediately became the leader of the coalition. The Coalition couldn't save the Maldran in time as they already fell to Katharan invaders.
War for Survival
Battle for Havalu
The Coalition realized they don't have technologies to fight against a greatly technologically advanced enemy. During the first dogfight between The Coalition Air Forces and Katharan Air Forces, Havaleans only have early Space Age aircrafts such as F-48, F-35, F-22, and even F-15. Among of three iterations of fighters, F-48 is the only iteration of fighter with capability to fly in space except F-48 doesn't have hyper speed drive. Meanwhile Katharan Fighters are primarily consisted of Defender-class and Interceptor-class ships, both have plasma lasers, high explosion rockets, capability to fly in space as well as with hyper speed drive, allowing them to travel between planets within seconds. The first dogfight resulted in the decisive Katharan victory with heavy cost of Defender-class and Interceptor-class ships, allowing The Coalition to salvage them and research the Katharan technology, speeding up the space technologies greatly and soon produce their own version of Defender-class and Interceptor-class ships in order to push back the Katharan invaders using their own technologies.
