The Belt

From Solar Conquest
Revision as of 00:58, 21 March 2024 by CapColton (talk | contribs) (Fixed some links in Trivia)

The Belt is a star system that can only be found in private servers. It cannot be accessed normally, and you have to use commands to enable it. It is currently the only private server star system within Solar Conquest 2.

The Belt
The Belt

Overview

The entire system is mostly composed of asteroids, varying from icy asteroids to rocky asteroids. All of which seems to circle the primary of the system, which is a large black hole with a ring of asteroids circling it. Interestingly, the skybox seen in the Maya system is also present within this system.

Worlds

Most of the "planets", Referred to by the creator as "Asteroids" or "Planetoids", within The Belt are not actually planets, but are rather floating asteroids with actual surface gravities and walkable terrains. The gravity on all of them is 0.2 g, most likely due to their asteroid-like nature. That, and there are no wells on them due to how small they are. Interestingly only about 7 conquerable planets are in this system, unlike the others who would usually have 9. Despite all of them just mostly being large asteroids, they still use the SC2 Planet models.

  • Arcterra | An almost icy asteroid with a frozen waterfall and lake on it.
  • Brinstar | A mostly rocky asteroid with a flat area, and large pink crystals.
  • Chozodia | Another rocky asteroid with a flat area, and a few large pink and blue crystals. It is also orbited by a ring of asteroids.
  • Magmoor | An asteroid composed of a single lava lake and a few large crystals surrounding the outskirts of it.
  • Norfair | Another asteroid composed mostly of a flat area and a few large pink crystals surrounding the outskirts.
  • Tourian | Another rocky asteroid with a flat area, and a rocky outskirt covered in large pink crystals. One of which is in the center of it | Team color: Purple
  • Vesper | An asteroid with a large lake of acid surrounding the center island of it.

Trivia

  • The names of every planet originates from a location or species from the Metroid franchise. A childhood Favorite of the creator.
    • Arcterra is named after Arcterra, a planet from Metroid Prime: Hunters.
    • Brinstar is named after Brinstar, a region located on Zebes.
    • Chozodia is named after Chozodia, an area located on Zebes that only appears within Metroid: Zero Mission.
    • Magmoor is named after the Magmoor's, a species that inhabits Tallon IV. It could also be named after the Magmoor Caverns. As of 3/20/24, it was confirmed to be named after the Caverns themselves, which still does mean it was named after the Species, but indirectly so.
    • Norfair is named after Norfair, an underground volcanic area on Zebes.
    • Tourian is named after Tourian, an area that is the HQ and research facility of the Space Pirate fortress.
    • Vesper is named after the Vesper Defense Outpost, a location within Metroid Prime: Hunters.
    • The Pink Crystals on most of the Asteroids are based off of the Chucklefish title: Starbound, specifically the Erchius Crystal.
  • A similar black hole was previously added as an easter egg within the game, however it was removed and was likely replaced with the Dark Dwarf Planet. However, unlike the black hole at the center of The Belt, it was much smaller and had a yellow outline instead.
  • The hole at the bottom of the Spawn box is blocked off, and is replaced with a teleporter that will either bring you to two asteroids with a spacecraft bay inside of them. Also inside of the two asteroids are a few materials that can be mined for RU's.
  • There are many floating chunks and debris of what appears to be planet terrain's, suggesting that The Belt may've been a star system similar to Cocoa, Maya, or Wanwood. Before the parent star underwent a core collapse and eventually formed into a black hole, and later led to the destruction of every planet within the system.
  • Due to the small size of the conquerable "planets", they all have no wells on them. However, a few wells can be found on a few asteroids scattered across the system.
  • Because of the Belt’s creator leaving the dev team, the system will remain in private servers indefinitely.*
