Player Factions in Solar Conquest 2

From Solar Conquest

Player based factions are factions created by players that work together in the game to make projects using the btools, participate in faction wars, and the Solar Conquest Olympics. Anyone can create a faction but only factions with a certain amount of players can participate in wars.

For more information, participation, and more, you may join the SC2's official Faction Discord server.

Faction wars

Rules

For your faction to participate and win in faction wars it should follow the following rules.

Glitches

All glitches are allowed, unless;

  • They noclip through things or allow you to shoot through solid objects.
  • They cause excessive server lag.
  • They cause blocks to be impossible to destroy.
  • They make it excessively difficult to play on a planet (such as the conveyor glitch).
  • They create an exosuit, consuit, etc. Moderators will decide what is and isn’t one of these if there is a debate on if this rule was broken.
  • They prevent a planet from being captured by placing a building in a hard to reach/not normally reachable place (Foroth / Javion caves are examples of this).

Outside Programs

All outside programs effecting gameplay (commonly known as “Exploits” or “hacks”) are banned unless they only help with performance (Such as roblox fps unlocker or anything like that), and those that are used to help with performance must be used to help performance. The one exception to this rule are VPNs, which are allowed in any capacity.

Gameplay

  • At the start of the game, both factions must pick teams that are opposite to the system as each other (Ex: Kathara and Javion or Havalu and Foroth) and cannot pick unknown. If there is a dispute between factions for which planet they want, they will decide it on a coin flip, and whoever calls it correctly gets to pick the first planet. An Admin/Moderator must be present if there is to be spectators, and it is recommended that there would be an admin there to count down the grace period and timeout scenario.
  • A faction must have more it’s own players than sub ins to play in a faction war. In the case that a faction would need an equal amount or more sub ins than players to fight against the numbers of the other faction, the other faction must have one of their players not play so the lower player faction can play in the faction war without breaking this rule.
  • Each faction can have a maximum of 10 players on their team, and each team must have an equal number of players. If any players need to go, they can be replaced by another player in the faction.
  • After both factions pick a team, the Admin/Moderator there or a third party there must count down from 10 after both factions have fully joined their teams. Once these 10 seconds pass, the admin uses a global message to say “Grace period has started, each team can only capture 4 planets during this time, and Avalos cannot be one of those 4 planets. You must ally with the other team.” Once this message has gone out, or the third party says start, grace period starts, as explained in the section below. If there is to be spectators and there’s an admin/moderator there, they can use Discord’s streaming feature and the view command to give spectators a way to view the match in the faction war viewing area VC. Players in the faction war cannot view the stream there, and nobody watching the stream can give any information to anyone participating in the faction war. In a game where there is an admin/moderator for the spectators, nobody can join the game unless they’re there to sub in for another player who’s dropping out, and an admin is recommended to use server lock to prevent players not in this situation from joining. An admin would turn off server lock when the team says they need a sub in or someone disconnected, and then would turn it back on after. In the case of there not being an Admin present, anyone on the unknown team/not participating cannot talk to anyone playing to give them information.
  • After spectators are set up, there will be a 30 minute grace period where both teams are allied to each other, and cannot break that alliance till the 30 minute grace period is over. If an Admin/Moderator is present, they will announce when the grace period is over through a global message, and must announce when there is 15 minutes and 5 minutes left.
  • During this grace period, each team can have a total of 4 planets, including their starting planet, and get them by a first come, first serve basis, with the exception of Avalos.
  • Avalos cannot be captured during the grace period, and must be captured after the grace period. You also cannot place anything on Avalos before the grace period ends. In the case that Avalos is accidentally captured, the third party or Admin/Moderator should go capture the planet as Unknown to remove any confusion. In the case that someone accidentally builds there, the faction war is either reset(in the case it happens within the first 5 minutes of the grace period), or that team is disqualified(in the case it is after the first 5 minutes).
  • Once the grace period ends, the teams break the alliance they have, can attack each other, and take Avalos. The third party or Admin/Moderator present then starts the wartime clock, in case of a timeout situation.
  • Players cannot intentionally throw (lose/tie) the game, or they will be asked to be replaced with a sub in if there is one available and it will not conflict with the sub in rule. If a whole team were to intentionally attempt to throw, they would be disqualified. If both teams are throwing, the faction war will be called off and not recognized, and both factions may not be recognized later for future faction wars. (Due to this being a hard rule to enforce, it is only enforced in very obvious cases, one example of what would be considering throwing is: attempting to have both teams have an equal amount of points with an equal amount of planets to get a complete tie situation.)
  • A space station cannot be placed too far from a planet, or must be placed in between two planets in a way that makes it fairly visible. This is to prevent stalling too much after a faction would capture every planet, while still allowing a slight chance of a comeback. An Admin/Moderator’s discretion will be what decides what’s too far from a planet, but a general rule is this: If it’s easily in sight of a planet’s atmosphere, or it’s in between two planets(such as near the Unknown’s spawnbox for a station in between Javion and Havalu), it’s fine. If it does not follow those two general rules, it probably is not fine.
  • The war ends once the “victory” message pops up, and whichever team is left standing, wins.
  • Alternatively, the war ends if the game lasts more than 1 hour and 15 minutes after the grace period, then the team with the most planets win. If both teams have the same amount of planets, the team with the most points win. If both teams have both the same amount of points and planets, the faction war is considered a tie. If an Admin/Moderator is present, they will announce globally when there is 45 minutes left, 30 minutes left, 15 minutes left, 10 minutes left, 5 minutes left, and when it’s a timeout situation(as in it’s been 1 hour and 15 minutes after grace period).

Gentleman’s rule

Any of these rules can be ignored or changed if both factions agree to it, with two exceptions. The first exception is that the total time it takes for a faction war(1 hour 45 minutes, 30 minute grace period plus 1 hour 15 minutes wartime) cannot be raised. The second exception is that the faction MUST have more players than sub ins. (For an example of the gentleman's rule, if you want a war with a 20 minute grace period instead of a 30 minute grace period, if both factions agree to this, they may. Another good example is if the factions want their starting planets close to each other, as in one faction wants Kathara and the other wants Foroth, if both factions agree, they can do this.)

Any of these rules can and likely will be changed in the future to accommodate future updates and/or new discoveries.
