The Outpost is an inexpensive auto-defense structure that fires barrages of lasers at detected enemies. It can also be used offensively in sieges to create a diversion or to hold a specific point. The Outpost is well-known as the only auto-defense structure with the capability to occasionally clip through shields, thereby killing the pilot.
Strategy
The Outpost is well-suited to destroy lightcraft because of its high rate of fire, and is not meant to combat larger ships.
